July and August 2008 events

Here are some of the upcoming events for July and August 2008:

Sun. June 29: The Bicentennial publicity sub-committee will have a short meeting after church. Please attend if you're on the committee and able to come. We especially need to work on a list of former pastors and members to invite by mail to the bicentennial.

Sat. July 12: God's Girls is planning an outing for July 12th. We have voted to go to Owensboro for a nice lunch and perhaps an activity afterwards (depending on the weather).

Sun. - Sun. August 3-10: Yelvington Annual Camp Meeting. Services each night at 7 with special events on Friday Aug. 8 (youth celebration night) and Sunday Aug. 10 (morning services beginning at 11 a.m. preached by our pastor) and followed by Potluck and a special concert by Firm Foundation). See the campmeeting website for more details: http://yelvingtoncampmeeting.blogspot.com/. We know we'll see you there!! Come enjoy the campmeeting's 111th year.

Sat. August 23: The entire church is invited to a picnic at Yellowcreek Park in Thruston. Time TBA. We have shelter number 2 reserved at the park. We hope all will come to fellowship together!

Groundbreaking Photo

Here's a photo from the groundbreaking ceremony for our new fellowship hall. This picture includes many of the members of our congregation.

If anyone has any especially good pictures from the event, especially of the whole group, please share them with T.N. for the scrapbook. Thanks!

Groundbreaking News!

Sun. June 15th Bethlehem will have a groundbreaking for our new Fellowship Hall after the 10 a.m. worship service (the groundbreaking will take place at approximately 11 a.m. just behind the church at the site of the new fellowship hall). Light refreshments will be served.

All church members and family and friends, as well as the public and our neighbors are welcome to attend the service and the groundbreaking.

We are excited about our new building and we are in hopes it will be completed by the time of our 200th anniversary celebration. Mark your calendars now - on Sun. Nov. 16, beginning at 11 a.m. the church will celebrate our heritage as the oldest congregation in Daviess County, Kentucky. We will mark the 200th anniversary with a luncheon and special worship services. More information will be posted here as we get closer to the date.
