Bethlehem United Methodist church will be celebrating a very special event on April 19, 2009. The church will be holding special services in recognition of our 200th anniversary and in dedication of our new Fellowship Hall.
Events will begin at 10 a.m. with a special worship service. Services will be led by our current pastor Ernie Doan. The Owensboro UMC District Superintendent, Rev. Dale Carden, will be the guest speaker. From 11-12 there will be a special event featuring reflections from historical figures in the church's history and from current members. Hymns from different eras in church history will also be part of the service. A scrapbook and other memorabilia will also be available for viewing. At the close of this service those present will move to the adjacent brand-new fellowship hall for a dedication of the new building.
Following the dedication will be a time for fellowship and catching up, followed by a meal for all those in attendance. The meal will begin at approximately 12:30 in the new Fellowship Hall.
All current and former members, friends of the church, community members and visitors, and especially former pastors are invited and encouraged to attend this exciting and historical event. We will be celebrating our heritage as the oldest congregation in Daviess County - and looking forward to our future!

Bethlehem has been invited to join a group from the community that will be attending the Ordination service for Rev. Tom Wilson, former Bethlehem pastor, at this year's UMC Conference. A bus will leave from Hancock County High School at 4:30 (sharp) on Mon. June 2nd to go to the Galt House in Louisville. A $15 fee is requested to help cover the cost of the bus and gas. The organizers would like to know by May 20th if you plan to attend, so please let Roger or Tonya know if you're interested.
We will continue to discuss plans for Bethlehem's 200th anniversary celebration. Current plans include a special morning worship service followed by a meal and then a celebration and reception. All former members & pastors, and any visitors from the community are welcome! We hope to be able to welcome everyone to our new fellowship hall, now in the planning stage, at that time! More information will be posted on this site as we finalize a date and other plans.
The May 18th God's Girls meeting has been cancelled.
